Dasari means A Servant of God.
The Dasari sangam is registered under the “Gazette of India” with regn no 33004/96 issued on 11 March 1996.
Apart from this, in service of God and service to the people, the “Dasari Sankshema Sangam” has registered by the noted people of Tirupati under government Act of Andhra Pradesh in 2010 and contributing to various religious programs like annadhanam, other seva’s in every auspicious day’s and continuing so far. The Executive body has been elected by the caste people to continue the sangam sevas without any obstacles.
Dasari, the word derived from the “Dasa”. The Caste is distributed in Southern India specially Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. In fact, even from centuries, the Dasari people are “Vaishnava Preachers and saints” and in seva of lord Venkateswara. The “Sankhu” is employed in the ministration of a class of temple servers called Dasari. No tune, so to speak, can of course be played upon it, but still the tone is capable of much modulation by the lips, and its clear mellow notes are not without a certain charm. A rather striking effect is produced when it is used in the temple ritual as a sort of rhythmical accompaniment, when it plays the part of “Kannagolu or Talavinyasa."
Dasari people are comprised of several endogamous groups, the principal one among these groups are “Bukka Dasari, Paga Dasari, Dande Dasari, Butte Dasari, Telage Dasari, Chinna Dasari and more. Dande Dasari sells bangles, Bukke Dasari perfumers who’s deals with Kumkum, and others may sell glass beads, needles, performing Bhagawath dance and so on. Ample evidence was found that the religious community in the history of Tirupati temple underlines the role of Dasari as protectors of “Hinduism”, being propogandists and singers of ballads of religious lores containing the highest truth.
